To
Whom It May Concern:
I
created WarriorSangha.com out of a genuine desire to learn more about the Air Force's Buddhist community, and to give the
many members of said community a place to connect with and learn more about each other. In order to prevent any
misunderstandings about what I am doing, allow me to offer the following disclaimers:
- First and foremost, visitors should understand that even though I am a career Air Force
officer, this website is an entirely personal project. This website and all of
its contents have been written and/or researched by me (except where otherwise stated), and are IN NO WAY the opinions of,
affiliated with, or endorsed by any element of the US Air Force Academy, the US Air Force Chaplain Corps, the US Air Force,
the Department of Defense.
- The phrase "Warrior Sangha" and the website title “WarriorSangha.com”
are meant to reflect the spirit of unity in which this site has been created, and should NOT be misconstrued to suggest that I have or am attempting
to organize an actual "sangha," in the sense of a formal Buddhist or other religious congregation, or to suggest that I am
in any way qualified to create or to lead such an organization (which I definitely am not).
- While I sincerely hope that a) the vision for this website
can be realized to its fullest potential, and b) said realization will involve the input of Air Force Buddhists around the
world, visitors should realize that I am NOT attempting to, nor do I think that I am speaking for any other member of the
Air Force, or any person other than myself. Outside of direct quotes from other
individuals or sources, I am reflecting only my own thoughts on the issue(s) on which I address on the website.
- While I warmly welcome the opinions and insights of all visitors to WarriorSangha.com,
visitors should realize that this website has been created specifically for use by the Buddhist members of the United States
Air Force, and therefore access to certain portions of it (i.e. our survey, our blog, etc.) will be restricted to those who
so properly identify themselves as such to me and choose to complete a free registration as members of WarriorSangha.com.
(Note: the membership mechanism I refer to here and throughout the website will not be put into place until the official launch
of WarriorSangha.com in Summer 2007, but the input of those who visit the site between now and the official launch are encouraged
to e-mail me at webmaster@warriorsangha.com with any thoughts or questions)
Although I can’t
think of anything else to add here at the moment, hopefully visitors will realize that I have created WarriorSangha.com with
the purest of intentions, and that I will do whatever is necessary to ensure that it reflects said intentions without compromising
my obligations as an AF officer, implicating anyone in its creation or content who is not expressly involved with the same,
or intentionally offending anyone, Buddhist or otherwise. However, should any
visitor feel that I have failed in any aspect of these concerns, please feel free to e-mail me at the address listed in item
4, above.
